Michael W. Burns

Michael W. BurnsMichael W. Burns earned a B.S. degree from the United States Naval Academy and has a master’s degree in Systems Management.Burns created and oversaw as the National Program Manager, the College Underserved Community Partnership Program, which engaged 70 colleges and universities to provide pro bono technical assistance to over 50 underserved communities on issues of community priority. He is currently the Founder and Executive Director of the 501c3 nonprofit company Community and College Partners Program, which is engaged in over twenty projects from Alaska to the Bahamas, and works with the American University of Central Asia.

Mr. Burns is partnering with the US Department of Interior; the American Geophysical Union’s Thriving Earth Exchange; and the Environmental Defense Fund. He is also one of the founding members of the Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Consortium, which focuses on extending emergency management certification to students at HBCUs.
