Biography
Mrs. Keirra D. Wilkins received her B.S. in Biology at Old Dominion University and completed her graduate studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine where she earned her M.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biomedical Sciences. During her graduate studies, Mrs. Wilkins focused her research on neuroendocrine chaperones and human PCSK1 mutations.
In 2018, she joined the Department of Biology at Norfolk State University as an Adjunct Professor and instructed General Biology and Microbiology courses. During this time, Mrs. Wilkins received multiple certifications from The Association of College and University Educators and The Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Currently, Mrs. Wilkins serves as an Assistant Professor of Biology and as the Health Sciences Coordinator/Pre-Health Advisor.
While serving as the Pre-Health Advisor, Mrs. Wilkins strives to encourage academic excellence and provide support to Norfolk State University’s pre-health students.
