Biography
Denise Bailey, M.Ed is the HUCOM CoE Project Manager. She has more than 20-years’ experience designing, coordinating, managing, and evaluating public health programs in underserved minority communities. In her capacity as the Project Manager, she is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the project including the procurement of all Howard resources needed for the project. She ensures that all project policies and procedures are followed. As the project manager maintaining and updating the project operational manual, overall project work plan and individual work plans is critical to the position.
Ms. Bailey provides oversight of projects reports and works with the Finance Manager to prepare all fiscal reports. In addition to day-to-day management of the project, she is the lead on developing and managing HUCOM COE student experiential learning activities to ensure that students are exposed to a myriad of internships, scholarships, and other experiential opportunities. As the project manager, she also ensures that the Center’s data from the academic partners is collected in a timely manner to ensure timely submission to the Evaluator in the desired format.
Ms. Bailey’s has served as the project manager on several projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Previous experience includes seven years as a Project Manager and Educator with the Pan American Health Organization in the area of environmental health working with disadvantaged and marginalized communities to promote best practices in health and environmental management.
