About the Presenter

John I. McNeil, MD

HIV Faculty Expert

John McNeil, MD is currently in private practice in Silver Spring, Maryland with Maximed Associates and an HIV specialist with Total Health Care in Baltimore. Dr. McNeil is a board certified Infectious Diseases Physician and was previously a faculty member at Howard University College of Medicine. He has been the Principal Investigator of several projects including the National Minority AIDS Clinical Trials, the Howard University ACTG, and the CDC ARTUS Project. He served as a Co-Principal Investigator for the DC Local Performance site of the Pennsylvania Mid-Atlantic AIDS Education and Training Center.

Dr OtubuOritsetsemaye Otubu, MD, MPH

Dr. Oritsetsemaye Otubu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine at Howard University School of Medicine since 2011. She is a board certified Family Physician and full time faculty at the Howard University Family Medicine Residency Program.  She obtained her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also attained a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Global Health Certificate. She completed her residency at the Georgetown University/Providence Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program.

Passionate about global health, Dr. Otubu has travelled to many countries to provide healthcare and education, including a recent trip to Cameroon to help teach Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) to local physicians and midwives. She hopes to increase human resource capacity in Low resource countries, especially in Africa, through medical education. As a result of her interest and to get more global public health insight she pursued an internship at the Pan American Health Organization where she produced a white paper on integrating health systems in the Americas with primary care as the foundation.  As an educator of residents and medical students, her enthusiasm and dedication to Family Medicine exude in her interactions with peers and learners, and in the caring way she advocates for her patients. Dr. Otubu has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a keen scholar as well as an educator.

Dr. OsagieFolasade Osagie, MD, MPH

Dr. Folasade Osagie is a resident physician at the Department of Community and Family Medicine Residency Program at Howard University Hospital, where is the Chief resident for research and quality improvement. She attained a Master’s degree in Public Health for Howard University College of Medicine, Washington DC. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Benin School of Medicine, Benin City, Nigeria,

Dr. Osagie has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals. Most of Dr. Osagie's work had been in the area of diseases which disproportionately affect the health of the minority population.
