Jacqueline AweBiography

Jacqueline Awe MSW, LCSW, MAC, is the Director of Student Development at Savannah State University. Jacqueline is licensed as a clinical social worker and a master addiction counselor. In addition, Ms. Awe wears several other hats. She is a suicide prevention trainer in the Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) models; a certified Department of Public Health HIV tester on campus and is the coordinator of the STAR program (which supports former foster youth, students in need and homeless college students). Jacqueline was appointed to the Board of the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless Board in June 2022.
                                                                                                                                               
Ms. Awe holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of the West Indies (St Augustine campus). She has a master’s degree in social work from Savannah State University (emphasis area of practice – social administration). Ms. Awe is currently completing her MPA at Savannah State University and is enrolled in the Doctor of Public Administration program at Valdosta State University.
