CDR Jill M. Shugart is an Environmental Health Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service and is currently assigned as an Emergency Coordinator at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)/National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Emergency Preparedness and Response Program Office (EPRO) in Atlanta, GA since August 2014. Previously she has been assigned to CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) in Health and Human Services (HHS) Region VII, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) in Kansas City, Kansas, and the Indian Health Service on the Hopi Indian Reservation in Polacca, Arizona. CDR Shugart has a Master of Science in Public Health from Tulane University, a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University and has multiple registrations in the field of Environmental Public Health. CDR Shugart has conducted preparedness and response activities for several public health emergencies including Ebola virus, several hurricanes and floods, oil spills, and earthquakes.
